New Extended Trailer for SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN

Snow White and the Huntsman is set to release on June 1st, and to help build hype in a season filled with fairy-tales (including another Snow White movie!), Universal Studios released this extened trailer for the film.

This isn’t a light-hearted fairy tale, that’s for sure. If the trailer is anything to go by, this movie is going to be intense, dramatic, and beautifully filmed. The trailer takes us into the haunted forest, and we get to see Kristen Stewart as Snow White more than ever before. Charlize Theron is pretty great as the Queen (as creepy as she is gorgeous), and the effects look fantastic! Plus, we can’t forget Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman, raw and basically bad-ass.

This is a new trailer and I couldn’t find it on youtube at the time of this post, so I’m linking to the deadline.com coverage. I’ll update it when I can find it!

What do you think? Do you think these actors can live up to the roles?

New AVENGERS Trailer Brings the Whole Team Together!

The newest trailer for The Avengers just released, and there is only one thing to say: holy CRAP this trailer is good! It’s the first time we see the whole team together, bickering, saving the world, and just generally kicking ass. Since most of the previously released clips have focused on Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Captain America (Chris Evans), it was really nice to see Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) doing some seriously cool maneuvers (I think Hawkeye has the best new scenes, but watch for yourself!). My only complaint? I wanted to get a glimpse of Coby Smulders as Maria Hill, as I’m a fan of hers. Seriously though, that is small potatoes compared to the rest of this magnificent, tempting trailer. The Avengers hits theaters on May 4th.

First Photos From “Snow White and the Huntsman”

The team at Lytherus was on-hand to cover the main events at this year’s Comic Con, but there are SO many things and only a few of us, so of course there are some things that won’t be covered. Luckily anything major gets posted as news, and this is one of them.

the upcoming movie Snow White and the Huntsman is getting a lot of hype, with a stellar cast including Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, and Kristen Stewart. Though filming hasn’t started yet, promo photos have been shot, and they were revealed at the panel during Comic Con. Check them out!

I love Kristen Stewart looking rather bad-ass as a warrior Snow White, and overall I think all of the images are great. Let’s get started on filming, people, so we can see a trailer!

Summit Writing “Divergent” Script

It doesn’t take long these days for books to be made into movies, it seems. What this says about the movie industry, I’m not sure, but what it does say about the book industry is that there are a lot of books written recently that have the appeal of possibly translating well to the screen.

The newest book to add to this list is newly-released, already best-selling Divergent, written by 22-year-old first time author Veronica Roth. Summit Entertainment (who we know as being the people behind the Twilight Saga movies) has hired a writer to create a script for them from this dystopian YA novel.

The mastermind behind the Divergent script is Evan Daugherty, the creator of the screenplay for Snow White and the Huntsman, which is currently in pre-production and is set to star Kristen Stewart (Twilight) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor), among other top stars.

What’s Divergent about? Here’s the summary from Amazon:

In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves… or it might destroy her.

Lytherus will be bringing you a book review of Divergent in the near future, so stay tuned to hear a little more detail about the story. Divergent hit stores on May 3rd, 2011.
